Situated in the intertidal zone at the N end of a D-shaped cove immediately N of Baurnahard Point c. 3km W of Kilrush at ITM 496280, 654940. The cove faces SW. A fish weir, defined by the remains of a substantial stone wall extending out SE from the natural rock outcrop at its W end for c. 70m before turning E-W at an angle and continuing in an almost straight E-W line for c. 270m in towards the shore and turning once more at an angle to NE for another 40m. According to local information this weir continued in use until within the last 50 years and has been robbed for stone over time (pers. comm. Michael Gibbons, 6 March 2018).
