Situated in the intertidal zone at the S end of a D-shaped cove immediately N of Baurnahard Point c. 3km W of Kilrush at ITM 469369, 654642. The cove faces SW. A fish weir, defined by the remains of a stone wall (L 170m) curving back in towards the shore from Baurnahard Point itself, designed to trap fish as the tide went out. According to local information this weir has been gradually covered in mud (pers. comm. Michael Gibbons, 6 March 2018). Another weir (CL067-078----), also stone built but with an angular shape lies at the N side of the cove.
