Wedge tomb in Sramore

Located on a S-facing slope at the head of a narrow E-W valley. Three orthostats form a NE-SW chamber, which probably opened to the SW, with a line of kerbstones outside it at NW. It is contained within a grass-covered cairn (dims 9m E-W; 6m N-S). Wedge tomb, dating to the Late Neolithic or Early Bronze Age (c. 2500–1000 BCE). Its orientation and kerbstone arrangement are typical of wedge tombs found in the Irish Midlands, reflecting regional funerary practices of the period.
