Marian shrine built by Cork parishioners in 1953 to mark the Assumption dogma of 1950. Its carving descends from a 14-century ivory first kept at Youghal, now venerated in the Dominican Church. A small road-side chapel carries an old image forward through prayer, memory and stone.
