Wayside cross 515m north east of Castle Farm

One worked stone shaft still stands 515m north east of Castle Farm, a medieval wayside cross in Cornwall that marked a route or boundary when people travelled by foot. It is not a grand cathedral or a named hero’s monument; it is the kind of plain stone that told a tired pilgrim the path was real and the distance could be borne. Much of its life is lost, but the act of setting it beside a road is still visible: someone judged this spot worth remembering, and the land kept that judgement alive.
