No visible mill remains in Ballywallon, County Down, though the name preserves a water-driven workplace active from the late medieval period into post-medieval times. The river did the heavy lifting while people directed its force, turning grain or feeding a local household without muscle strain. That absent building still occupies the landscape because the river kept doing its part long after the timber and stone left the place.
