What is recorded here
The terrier which accompanies the Down Survey (1655-6) map mentions 'Two Double mills and a Single mill in repaire' at Kilmainham. Gomme's map of 'The City and Suburbs of Dublin' (1673) shows a mill at Old Kilmainham. Possibly on the site of the mill shown on the 1st edition OS 6-inch map (1837) as 'Flour mill'.
The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
