Water mill

Unlocated watermill in the townland of Tullovin, that is depicted on the 17th century Down Survey map of Coshma Barony (Hib. Reg.). On this map the watermill is shown standing on the bank ‘River Mag’ (Maigue), in the townland of ‘Tullovine’. The watermill is also depicted on the Down Survey map of Ballingaddy Parish (NLI, MS 718). The 1654-56 Civil Survey of Limerick recorded that Edmund Leo of Tullovyne, an Irish Papist, was the owner of 'a castle [LI019-048---], bawne [LI019-048002-] stone house, an orchard with two mills' (Simington 1938, 139).
