Water mill

Water mill, unclassified

What is recorded here

There is a record of timbers from a 'crannog' discovered c. 1900 at Toberduff from which a granite quern was also recovered (Esmonde 1902, 69). The monument is likely to have been a horizontal mill, and its location is not known now. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload/revision: 16 March, 2012

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
