Water mill

In 1844 Windele described, near Bantry, 'a water channel and square timber cistern from which collected water was conveyed by a large oaken chute to the works standing considerably beneath'. (Rynne 1988, 326). Site not located. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992).
