Water mill

Examined by Windele in 1850 who reported an 'oblong wooden cistern of oak 4feet 8 inches in length, 6 feet 10 inches broad and about 20 inches in depth...a pair of millstones, a wooden shovel, and the shaft of a wheel' (Rynne 1988, 333). He suggests the whole structure may have been destroyed by fire. Site not located. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
