What is recorded here

On S bank of the Dalgan River, to ENE of a trackway (GA004-015----). In 1971, a long plank of wood (L 1.53m), mortised at each end, and a pointed wooden stake were found in cutaway bog. The plank is probably part of a horizontal watermill (Topgr. Files, NMI). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'.
