War Memorial

Knockagh Monument rises 110 feet above Greenisland, the largest war memorial in Northern Ireland. Built from local basalt and completed in 1936 after a decade of delay, it lists the Antrim dead from the Great War and later both world wars. From its summit, Belfast spreads below like a dark water, making the dead feel close enough to watch the city breathe.
