Wall monument in Glebe (magunihy By., Kilcummin Ed)

In Kilcummin church (KE058-072002-). A flat round-headed stone has recently been set vertically in the internal S wall of the church. The stone (H 0.84m; Wth 0.6m) is set into a crudely-built red brick wall which is built on top of the cut-limestone slab of a large tomb; masonry in the N wall of the tomb has been repointed. The stone is cracked diagonally across its centre; a detached piece at the top left-hand corner has been reset. The coat of arms is difficult to decipher; the inscribed motto reads 'Boutes en avant'. The inscription reads: 'This is the Barry's armes 1666/Here lieth the body of Mrs/Jeane Barry otherwise Leader/The wife of Mr Richard Barry/ of Killarney who departed/this life the second day of/February 1760 aged 32 years'.
