The Wakatipu was a steamship that operated on New Zealand's Lake Wakatipu in the 19th and early 20th centuries; it was not a seagoing vessel and its wreck is not typically associated with maritime shipwreck records. The reference to it in the National Monuments Record of Wales appears to be an error or misattribution, as the vessel has no known connection to Wales or its waters.
