Vingafjord

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Vingafjord as Motor Vessel (period Unassigned)-(1973). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

The *Vingafjord* was a motor vessel built in 1973, primarily used for coastal transport and fishing support in Scottish waters. It was lost in 1986 after running aground near the Shetland Islands during a storm, resulting in the loss of two crew members and a significant cargo of fish and fuel; its wreck remains an important archaeological site for understanding late 20th-century maritime trade in northern Scotland.
