Freestanding cast-iron vent pipe, c.1880, comprising fluted pedestal with inscription, moulded necking and cylindrical shaft over having moulded necking. Now disused. Road fronted on grass verge.
This vent pipe, which is now disused, is of social and historical importance, attesting to the late nineteenth-century sewage system built in Kilcock. The pipe now forms an attractive, if subtle, feature on the streetscape, and items of street furniture such as this are often overlooked by the passer-by.
