Urlanmore Castle stands in ruins in County Clare, Ireland, its tower house reduced to a broken shadow rather than a standing wall. It is the kind of place where clarity withdraws, not because truth vanished but because everyone still wants the castle to be grand. That is the trap. Built by the MacNamara clan in the 15th or 16th century, Urlanmore Castle is remembered as a significant example of a defensive tower house in the Clare region, reflecting the local Gaelic lordship's response to political instability and territorial conflicts of the period.
