Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Upper Tillygarmond as Long Cairn (neolithic)(possible). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Neolithic long cairn, dating to the early to middle Neolithic period (circa 3700–3000 BCE). It represents a significant type of communal burial monument, reflecting early agricultural settlement and social organization in northern Scotland.
