Upper Broomhedge Historic Settlement in Creenagh, County Antrim, dates to the eighteenth century and preserves the shape of ordinary life long after its people vanished. The name suggests rowan branches or hedgerow boundaries, yet no visible structure remains to confirm whether the place was a farm, a hiding spot, or a boundary marker. Whatever it was, it resisted forgetting long enough to enter the official record, which is more than most human traces achieve.
