What is recorded here
Upland field systems and enclosures in County Antrim show that people shaped the high ground during the medieval period or earlier. The stones may have marked pasture, shelter or boundary rather than a single village. Anyone walking that land now moves through the same choice repeated across generations: claim the uphill place and make it usable before the weather takes it back.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as UPLAND SETTLEMENT SITE - FIELD SYSTEM, ENCLOSURES & STRUCTURES (c.f. Ant 045:003). Recorded period: MEDIEVAL; UNCERTAIN. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
