Upas

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Upas as Steamship (period Unassigned)-(1915). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

The *Upas* was a steamship built in 1915; it was lost in 1915 during its maiden voyage when it struck a rock near the Scottish coast, resulting in the loss of all 12 crew members. The wreck is significant as an example of early 20th-century steamship design and as a maritime hazard in the region.
