The present bridge at Tyone is an eighteenth/nineteenth-century three-span, cut limestone bridge. The arch support stones are rusticated in a typical nineteenth-century style. The Civil Survey of 1654-6 refers to the 'Bridge of Tyone' which presumably was an early bridge at this site (Simington 1934, vol. 2, 254). The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002).
