TWO RATHS

TWO RATHS, 1 BIVALLATE; 1 UNIVALLATE and DECORATED STONE

What is recorded here

Two raths stand in County Antrim, one with a single rampart and the other with two, beside a decorated stone that marks the edge of human memory. They belong to the early Christian period, when survival and prayer shared the same ground. The larger ring may have housed a family or a small community, while the smaller served a guard, a hermit, or a child who learned the shape of the world through its walls.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as TWO RATHS - 1 BIVALLATE; 1 UNIVALLATE and DECORATED STONE. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. Recorded protection: Scheduled. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
