Two bowl barrows on Mount Ararat, 865m and 910m north east of Stephen's Castle

Scheduled monument

What is recorded here

Two ancient burial mounds still stand on Mount Ararat, half a kilometre from Stephen's Castle. They are scheduled monuments, meaning the state recognises their age and worth, but recognition does not automatically grant entry. The hill may have swallowed the names of the dead long before it took its present shape.
The National Heritage List for England records Two bowl barrows on Mount Ararat, 865m and 910m north east of Stephen's Castle as a scheduled monument. The saved point comes from the centre supplied by the official record. Listing does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
