What is recorded here

Twelve Castle Street stands in Hay on Wye as a medieval terraced house, old enough to predate most local memory. Stone chambers, wooden floors and narrow staircases may have sheltered traders, travellers or temple workers before modern roads arrived. The house still belongs to the town, not to display cases, and its age shows in the continuity of ordinary life rather than grand spectacle.
