Half a storybook castle and half a brutal machine of sight, Turret still stands on its rock south of the Raleigh House avenue. The missing roof is not a loss but a completion: an open cup for weather, stars and argument. Climb the west stairs, sit beside the northeast fire and watch the land turn beneath you.

On top of a rock outcrop, immediately S of avenue to Raleigh House (CO070-109----).Two-storey square embattled tower (int. 1.3m N-S) built within NW side of D-shaped platform (H c. 4.5m); fireplace in NE corner; upper floor and roof no longer survive. Platform, accessed by stairs in W wall, enclosed by parapet wall with low turret projecting from SW corner.
