Tullygallan Fairy Fort above Donegal Bay — Report the wrong picture

Thirty metres across, a worn earthen bank still marks the round chamber above Donegal Bay. Lazy beds and rushes fill the middle now, but the shape remains clear on the hill shoulder. Local tradition calls it a fairy fort, which means people once believed the chamber belonged to someone else entirely. Human hands built it, fairies inherited it, and the bay still turns the story over like a coin.

Internal diam. 30m. A circular area enclosed by a partially worn earthen bank. There are indications of lazy bed cultivation in the interior which is now rush-covered. It is situated on the shoulder of a hill overlooking Donegal Bay close to the site above (DG100-005-) in poor land. Tullygallan Fairy Fort above Donegal Bay is a circular earthen ringfort, likely dating to the early medieval period, with a diameter of approximately 30 meters. Local tradition associates it with fairy lore, as its name suggests, and such sites were often believed to be inhabited by supernatural beings or linked to ancient druidic practices.
