Tullichewan Castle stood as Scotland's first asymmetrical Gothic house from 1792 until explosives destroyed it in 1954. Robert Lugar designed the striking structure for James Buchanan, creating a bold silhouette that later owners such as the Horrocks and Campbell families inhabited. The Royal Navy requisitioned the estate during World War II, turning its grand rooms into functional camp space before abandonment returned it to silence. Today the A82 dual carriageway cuts through the former grounds, leaving only a fragment of the original tower visible above the modern road.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Tullichewan Castle as Castle (medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Tullichewan Castle was built in the 16th century by the Drummond family, a prominent Scottish noble family. It is remembered as a historic seat of the Earls of Perth and for its later transformation into a grand Victorian mansion in the 19th century.
