Tullabarry Fort, Ballyvannan is a ringfort, typically dating to the early medieval period (c. 500–1000 AD), and is likely to have been a defensive or agricultural settlement. Local folklore may associate such forts with fairies or other supernatural beings, as "fairy forts" were commonly believed to be inhabited by otherworldly creatures in Irish tradition.
