What is recorded here

The early ecclesiastical site of St. Molana (WA037-011001-) adopted the Augustinian rule in the 12th century, possibly when it became associated with the Anglo-Norman lord Raymond le Gros, who was said to be buried there. The association is unlikely, but his reputed effigial grave-slab, which was recorded by Daniel Grose in the 1820s or 1830s (Stalley 1991, 11) is now lost. Stalley, R.
