Three and a half metres west of the church wall, a broken chest tomb lies half-swallowed by grass. One side stone is gone, the top slab is missing, and the name Casey is buried beneath soil. Inside the church, an upright slab waits like a displaced roof, perhaps belonging to the same dead man. The grave has lost its shape but it has not forgotten the person it was built to hold.

Lying within Ruan graveyard (CL025-070002-) c. 3.5m W of the W wall of the church (CL025-070001-). The remains of a chest tomb, much broken and missing one of its side stones and its top slab. A slab set upright on its side within the church may be from the top of the tomb. The slab bears the following inscription: Casey P 1783 185 …..d by P..Casey/ for him & /……. 1783.
