From: O’Mahony, A. (1987, 14, No. 2) On the left of the tombstone (WX029-013055-) attached to the N wall of the side-chapels on the S transept is the stone (Wth 0.67m; H `1.93m; T 0.15m) from the side of the same altar tomb. It also has a foliate cross and there are two iron rings. The inscription around the edge reads: Hic iacet Johanes: white ... the right side of the stone is broken, the bottom line is indistinct G: - ecasis (?) - - - - -.... and the bottom left corner is broken off feliciter: peracto: ex: hac: vita: migravit 29: die: marcii: anno: dni: 1569: pro: cuius anima: orare: hec: legentes. magnopere. rogavit (Here lies John White ---- happily accomplished, departed from this life on the 29th day of March in the year of Our Lord 1569.
