What is recorded here

On S bank of the Black River in grassland. An oval water-filled pool (NE-SW 8m, NW-SE 5m) fed by a spring which, according to local tradition, never dries up. A second well lies c. 20m to NE and is known locally as the 'small well'. It consists of a circular hollow (D 3.5m) which, though dry at the time of visit, is used as a domestic well.
