Tobermary is a holy well in County Cork, Ireland. People still walk its double stone walls and visit on August 15th or December 8th, while the eastern stream carries water past the modern concrete fence. The oval well, southern openings and northern statue niche suggest a place shaped repeatedly for prayer, memory and the quiet traffic of the body through sacred space.

Modernised oval-shaped well, lined with stones; surrounded by concrete wall with opening to S. Second stone wall, also with opening to S, surrounds first with pathway between. Statue niche on top outer wall to N, backed by hedge. Concrete fence enclosed large area around well. Stream flows down slope to E well. Still visited on August 15th and December 8th. Linked to Saint Mary, the well is traditionally associated with healing and protection, particularly for women's ailments and safe childbirth. Local folklore suggests that water from Tobermary was once carried to nearby homes during times of illness or before childbirth to invoke the saint's blessing.
