Toberkieran, Mahonburgh is a holy well traditionally associated with Saint Kieran, a 6th-century Irish saint and founder of the monastery at Clonmacnoise. The well was historically visited for its supposed healing properties, particularly for eye ailments, and may have been a site of pilgrimage and seasonal rituals.
