Tobergrania Holy Well

Wedge tomb

What is recorded here

Tobergrania Holy Well is a wedge tomb in County Clare, Ireland, where ancient stones still tilt across the land. People may have gathered there to mark the dead, witness the sky or quiet their own fear of forgetting. The well water and tomb stones belong to the same place, as if drinking and remembering were one act.
See linked document with details from Ruaidhrí de Valera and Seán Ó Nualláin, Survey of the Megalithic Tombs of Ireland. Volume I. County Clare. (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1961) Date of upload: 28 December 2011
