THREE CAIRNS (O.S. memoir site, unlocated) in Dunnavenny

Three ancient stones still stand in Dunnavenny, marking a forgotten human arrangement from the PREHISTORIC period. They are not a decorated monument or a named ceremonial centre, but a small archaeological trace preserved beside ordinary land. People may have gathered there, buried someone, measured the sky or simply marked a boundary now lost. The cairns remain because that much of the area survived, even when the wider setting disappeared from memory.
