Templebryan Ch(in Ruins)

In S half of graveyard (CO122-075003-) in early ecclesiastical enclosure (CO122-075001-). Remains of rectangular church (10.25m E-W; 6.6m N-S) in ruins by 1693 (Webster 1932, 276). Walls stand to max. H 0.85m (wall thickness 0.9m). Door ope in W end of S wall. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Templebryan North Church was built in the 12th or 13th century and dedicated to St Bryan, with later modifications in the 14th or 15th century. It is significant as a small rural church that reflects early medieval ecclesiastical architecture in the region.
