Detached two-bay single-storey house with half-dormer attic, extant 1840, on a rectangular plan off-centred on single-bay single-storey flat-roofed projecting porch. Now disused. Hipped fibre-cement slate roof with lichen-spotted concrete ridge tiles centred on grey brick Running bond chimney stack having concrete capping supporting terracotta pots, and cast-iron rainwater goods on timber eaves boards on roughcast slate flagged eaves retaining cast-iron downpipes. Part creeper- or ivy-covered roughcast walls on rendered plinth. Square-headed off-central door opening into house. Square-headed window openings including paired square-headed window openings (half-dormer attic) with sills, and concealed dressings framing six-over-six timber sash windows having part exposed sash boxes. Road fronted on a corner site with unkempt verge to front.
A house representing an integral component of the built heritage of County Wexford with the architectural value of the composition, one most likely the 'house for the priest…adjoining the chapel [1765] near Crossabeg' (Lewis 1837 II, 198), suggested by such attributes as the compact rectilinear plan form off-centred on a later porch; and the somewhat disproportionate bias of solid to void in the massing compounded by the slight diminishing in scale of the openings on each floor. A prolonged period of unoccupancy notwithstanding, the elementary form and massing survive intact together with substantial quantities of the historic or original fabric, thus upholding the character or integrity of a house making a pleasing visual statement in a sylvan street scene.
