What is recorded here

Situated on a severe S-facing slope on the northern bank of a NW-flowing stream. It is marked only on the Cassini edition of the OS 6-inch map with houses shown c. 100m to the NW and c. 85m to the SW. This is a D-shaped mound (dims 3m E-W; 2.9m N-S; H 0.765m at E to H 2.2m at N) containing an oval corbelled chamber (dims. 1.8m N-S; 1.5m E-W; H 2m) with an entrance (Wth 0.6m; H 0.6m) at N. (Weir 1980, 172) The monument was resurveyed by the Leitrim Sweathouse Project in 2022 (A. Harte and G. Gibbons) and the floor was found to be covered with a thin layer of dry debris.
