Located towards the top of an E-facing slope, and c. 40m ESE of an abandoned farmhouse in a coniferous forest. It is marked only on the 1907 edition of the OS 6-inch map. Recorded by the Leitrim Sweathouse Project (pers. comm. A. Harte) as a small, ruined structure (L 1.57m; Wth 1.32m) with a low, narrow entrance (H 0.5; Wth 0.46; D 0.5m). Sweat Ho., Doolargy Glebe is associated with the tradition of the sweathouse, a ritual site used historically for sweat-inducing ceremonies, often linked to healing practices and seasonal festivals such as Bealtaine. These structures were typically used by women for purification and fertility rites, involving the application of heat and herbal treatments.
