Structure

An irregular scatter of brushwood (diam. 0.01-0.06m) on the field surface (Wth 1.1m; D 0.16m). The brushwood is more concentrated towards the NE end of the site. Traces of wood are noted in an adjacent drain face and it is possible that this site represents the remains of a more substantial site. There is evidence for woodworking and branch-trimming. The site sits in moderately humified Sphagnum peat. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1993. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
