Structure

The site (Wth 1.2m; D 0.4m) consists six pieces of light brushwood, laid two pieces deep, with occasional twigs and three possible pegs in the drain face. There is no discernible structure as the elements are widely spaced in an irregular fashion. Woodworking is evidenced by break-and-tear marks on a number of pieces. One piece was identified as ash. The site is in moderately humified Sphagnum peat. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1994. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
