Structure

A loose arrangement (Wth 0.56m; D 0.26m) of light brushwood, laid five pieces deep, in the drain face. The pieces are closely spaced in an irregular fashion with no apparent structure. At least three pieces have tear marks. One piece was identified as hazel. The site is in moderately humified Sphagnum peat. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1994. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
