Structure

An irregular and widely dispersed deposit of light brushwood and twigs in the drain face (Wth 0.5m; D 0.33m). Three elements set at near vertical positions were originally recorded as pegs but may have been disturbed by drain cutting machinery. Woodworking was evidenced by two metal-cut chisel points. Two pieces were identified as alder and hazel, respectively. The site is in Sphagnum peat. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1994. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
