Structure

A loose arrangement of brushwood in the drain face (Wth 0.98m; D 0.5m). The site consists of approximately fifteen pieces of light brushwood, laid six pieces deep, with occasional twigs. The pieces are widely dispersed and lack a discernible structure. They are located at varying levels and are unlikely to be related. A single piece has a metal-cut chisel point. The site is in moderately to well-humified Sphagnum peat. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1994. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
