Structure

A deposit (L 0.82m; Wth 0.64m; D 0.04m) of eleven pieces of light brushwood, laid two pieces deep, on the field surface. The pieces are closely spaced, irregularly laid and lack a discernible structure. Woodworking is evidenced by tear marks on two pieces. One piece was identified as willow. The site is in poorly to moderately humified Sphagnum peat. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1994. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
