Structure

One horizontal and two vertical roundwoods (Wth 0.5m; D 0.18m). One of the vertical roundwoods lies exposed against the drain face and may be ex situ. The second possibly functioned as a peg. Two stakes are recorded in an adjacent drain to the SE, consistent with the direction of the horizontal roundwood, and may indicate that the site constituted a coherent structure. Evidence for woodworking is attested by a single wedge point. The site is situated in poorly humified Sphagnum peat with occasional patches of Eriophorum. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1993. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
