Structure

A dispersed band (Wth 3.7m; D 0.53m) of brushwood (diam. 0.02-0.06m) in the drain face. It is not possible to discern a clear structure although the brushwood tends to occur in small deposits or irregularly laid pieces. There is evidence for woodworking on a small number of pieces. Wood species include birch. The site is located in well-humified Sphagnum peat. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1993. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
